The Process:
Matcha is made from ‘Tencha’. Tencha are tea leaves that are covered under a shade in order to shelter them from the sun for more than 20 days before the harvest – this makes the tea leaves greener and tastier. After harvesting, the tea leaves are slowly and carefully steamed in a special steamer to make Tencha. The ground Tencha is what we call ‘Matcha’
Matcha mixes well in water but does not completely dissolve. Expect some settling. You may want to stir your cup of matcha before enjoying the final sips. Sip hot or cold, make a latte or a smoothie, mix it in your morning oatmeal or bowl of granola and you don’t have to worry about a caffeine crash.
Packaging: We package our Culinary Matcha in BPA-free packaging with a resealable zipper pouch. Each package is nitrogen-flushed to ensure maximize freshness and potency.
